PROSE is a transparent dome, filled with a sterile saline solution that serves as an artificial tear reservoir, providing constant lubrication to the eye, and allowing oxygen to reach the cornea. The device, about the size of a nickel and composed of gas permeable material, creates a smooth surface over the damaged cornea.
