What to Expect From Your Contact Lens Exam

  • Regular eye exam

    During your comprehensive eye exam your optometrist will check that your eyes are healthy and will test your vision to determine your contact lens prescription.

  • Contact lens consultation

    During your contact lens exam your optometrist will check for dry eye symptoms and consult with you to determine what type of contact lenses are the best fit for your lifestyle and vision needs.

  • Contact lens fitting

    For ideal vision correction and comfort, contact lenses must fit well. Your optometrist will examine the size and shape of your cornea and pupil to ensure the right fit.

  • Contact lens trial and follow-up

    Your optometrist will insert trial lenses and ask you to keep them on for 15-20 minutes to be sure the fit is comfortable and vision is clear. After a few days, you'll come in for a follow-up evaluation.

I love this Drs. Office. They were so thorough and explained everything including my prescription f... or my eye drops. I also brought my 6 year old daughter and they were great with her. The Physician’s assistant I think her name was Anitia was amazing. She sat and talked to my daughter and made her feel very comfortable while she was getting her exam. All around they have a great team and made our visit great. The girl by the back office took time in picking out several pairs of glasses for me to try on. I got a pair I love. She also explained the breakdown of our receipt. I highly recommend Carolina Forest family eye Drs office. We definitely will be returning for all our exams in the future.

I had not passed the eye test at the DMV and needed an exam on short notice. I began my search for e... ye doctors and this office had very good reviews. I called them and was able to get an appointment the next day due to a cancellation. Boy, am I happy with my choice. Carolina Forest Family Eyecare provided exceptional service to me. The front desk, my eye technician and Dr Lane were outstanding by every measure. They were all very courteous, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and professional. I received an extremely thorough eye exam using the latest in technologies to evaluate the health of my eyes and my eyesight. I am so glad I found them and am now a permanent patient. Dr. Weshefsky is absolutely amazing. He has truly given me my life back. He has been able to correct... my vision so that i can drive, work, do and see things that ive missed out on for so long. Can dry eye sufferers wear contact lenses?

Usually, yes. While some types of contact lenses can aggravate symptoms of dry eye syndrome, such as eye dryness, redness and irritation, other contacts are perfectly suitable for dry eyes.
